Following a successful career as a newspaper reporter, specialist writer and news editor, Paul turned his talents to training and became one of the most respected names in the profession.

Under his leadership, the acclaimed Multi-Media Journalism Centre in Newcastle  was an industry leader, racking up a host of coveted awards and counting titles including The Times, Daily Telegraph and the Mirror among its client list.

The centre’s alumni can now be found in editor’s chairs and newsrooms across the globe.

In addition,  he helped design and for 12 years deliver, Newcastle University’s International Multi-Media Journalism MA. A highly regarded course that attracted students from more than 20 countries.

A graduate in English of Leeds University, Paul has never lost his enthusiasm for the written word and counts the hundreds of hours he spent honing the skills of his trainees as some of his happiest and most fulfilling times.

He is married and lives in the seaside town of Whitley Bay, where he reads obsessively, enjoys coastal walks and plans fly-fishing sessions.
